Welcome to Boulevard Studio's website dedicated to our documentary film, A BLOOM IN THE SIDEWALK. A feature length documentary film about a small group of women who have shared their most intimate journeys of surviving abuse, trafficking, loss & grief and have all chosen to give back to others and help others heal using different forms of art.
It all started with three girls, a bottle of red wine & a delicious meal....the rest is history! We began discussing what films and documentaries were out there available to people who wanted to gain insight & understanding on sensitive topics & we discovered there wasn't much out there. This was disappointing, considering the high percentages of people who have endured & survived abusive situations, trafficking, loss and grief.
The three of us decided to make that film, a film where people could hear the truth about the grit and long term effects of child abuse, the stories of trafficking/forced prostitution, the journeys of women facing death with cancer, a mother's tale of burying her youngest child- all these stories are important & need to be told, they have value and offer a glimpse into someone's heart & soul.
The very thing that connects us as human beings- this journey we call our lives, no matter how different we all live them, it connects us. We feel for one another, we sympathize, we empathize, we mourn, we grieve, we choose to inspire & help others along the way. We make that commitment to get to the other side of all the pain and grief and we offer a helping hand, we come alongside another person and say "I understand your pain, I will stay with you, you matter", how amazing & life-giving is that? I promise you it is powerful & the impact is life-long.
We invite you to be brave enough to enter into our world, to experience with us what our journey has been, to hopefully feel inspired & encouraged to reach out a help someone in need- to make a difference in our fragile world.
